This book review page will be a little different. I wanted to copy an affiliate link to an e-book that I purchased recently. Here's the back-story on that...
A couple of years ago, I was looking through a Vision Forum catalogue, and stumbled across a book review by a lady who was credited with being the mother of 10 kids and she wrote a blog. My first thought was "Wow--ten kids--and she still sounds sane!" So, I thought I'd check out her blog. Well, I was hooked, and through her blog I found a couple of others that I also enjoy reading. Well, this group of ladies does a joint blog post every Thursday where they all blog about the same topic, or answer reader questions. The name of their group is "4 Moms, 35+ Kids" because they all have large families.
About two weeks ago, they released an e-book that is done in a question/answer format. It also has chore charts and other things in the back that can be printed out. I have really enjoyed reading their blogs and this e-book, and have been able to get a lot of "chaos-curbing" advice from both.
If you're interested, here is a link to their site to purchase the book. As of this post, the price was $4.99 if you use the coupon code "BIGSALE". It is in pdf format, so you can print from it pretty easily, or put it on an e-reader such as Nook or Kindle. If you decide to get it, let me know if you found it as helpful as I did! :)

So, I've been wanting to do a "What I've Been Reading" page for a while now. It will be a kind of book review/recommendation page. Here's the first one! Hope you enjoy!
Coincidentally, the first book I am going to review is a great one for the month of February! I first heard about this book on our local Christian radio station. Dr. David Jeremiah was doing a series of messages on the book of Song of Solomon. I am not normally one to listen to preachers on the radio, but I stumbled across the broadcast one day while out running errands, and he was so informative, that I decided to order the book when I got home!
The title of the book is What the Bible Says About Love, Marriage, and Sex: the Song of Solomon. It is basically a verse-by-verse series of messages that he compiled into a book form. So, I found it very easy to incorporate it into my personal devotion time.
I found it to be a very practical look at this book of the Bible that--let's face it--your pastor may not ever preach from! I haven't heard very many messages from this book of the Bible, and the ones I have heard dealt with it in a more metaphorical sense, rather than a literal one. He handles "certain topics" tastefully and Scripturally.
I also like the fact that it was not geared specifically to men or women, but things were covered for both. It would make a good study for couples, too, I think. All in all, I found this to be a good book for an in-depth study of Song of Solomon. There was a good balance of spiritual insight and practical application as well.
Hope you enjoy this book review, and if you read the book, let me know what you thought of it! :)
P.S. Here's a link to where I got the book. When I ordered it, it was on a per-donation basis. Not sure if that's still the case or not.
